What is the borewell drilling cost per foot in India?
Published ranges on this site run from about ₹80 to ₹250 per foot for most homes and farms (up to ₹280 for heavy industrial drilling). The rate for a site in India depends on depth, soil and rock hardness, borewell diameter and rig type (DTH or rotary). Ask for a written quote that lists drilling, casing pipe, rig transport and any pump work separately. You can use the cost worksheet to compare quotes.
How deep should a borewell be in India?
Homes and apartments usually need 150–600 ft, and farms 600–1,200 ft or more. The final depth in India depends on the water table and the local geology at your plot, so agree the target depth and the per-foot rate for each depth stage before drilling starts.
Which is better: DTH or rotary drilling?
DTH (down-the-hole) drilling is best for hard rock and rocky ground. Rotary drilling suits soft or alluvial soil. We recommend the method after looking at your site and, where available, survey results.
How long does it take to drill a borewell?
Most borewells are drilled in 4 to 8 hours, depending on depth, ground conditions and site access. Rig travel, casing, flushing and pump work are additional.
Do you install borewell pumps?
Yes. We install V3, V4, V6 and V8 submersible pumps, jet pumps and compressor systems, and help choose the HP and stages from the bore depth, static and dynamic water levels and expected yield.
Is a groundwater survey necessary before drilling?
It is not legally required, but a scientific survey (electrical resistivity and geological mapping) improves the chance of finding a high-yield point and helps avoid dry borewells. Many customers still choose their own spot, for example for Vastu reasons, and we drill where you decide. No survey can guarantee water.
Can an old borewell be cleaned or restored?
Yes. Compressor flushing, chlorine disinfection and removal of sand, silt, clay and iron deposits can restore flow in old or clogged borewells. Share the borewell’s history so we can suggest the right treatment; results depend on the condition of the bore.
Do you work in villages and rural areas around India?
Yes. We work through partner rig operators, so towns and villages around India can usually be covered. Send your exact location and we will confirm availability and the date the rig can reach you.
What borewell sizes do you drill?
What is charged apart from drilling?
Casing pipe (usually PVC, sometimes MS) is charged separately because it is fitted during drilling. Rig transport, flushing, yield testing and any pump installation should also appear as separate lines on your quote.
Do I need permission to drill a borewell in India?
Rules differ by state and sometimes by district; some areas need approval from the state groundwater authority or local body before drilling. Our state rules and guidelines page lists what we have published for each state. The property owner is responsible for approvals, and we can tell you what we know before you book.
What happens if the borewell does not give enough water?
Groundwater and yield cannot be guaranteed by any contractor. Before drilling, agree how deep to go, when to stop, and how the work will be charged if the yield is low, so there are no surprises.
